News from the Kennels

Although we now have our forever homes we try to stay connected to the place that took care of us when no one else could, Greyhound Rescue Fife.

This week in the kennels three lucky hounds have found new homes - Hunter, Robin and Gromit. Hunter was the 700th dog to be rehomed, marking a fantastic milestone for the kennels. We were also happy to hear the news that Robin has found her home as she will make a great family pet. As for Gromit,  we never crossed paths but he seems like a lovely hound too who will enjoy his retirement in comfort now.

Dog of the month is Joe, a great black boy who loves to have fun. Joe always seems to have a smile on his face which makes everyone else want to smile too, it's infectious!  We hope Joe finds his forever home soon because both of us know how it feels to be in the kennels over a year and see so many other doggies come and go.

Our poor uncle Jimmy is in hospital just now, his leg is playing up and causing trouble. We're wishing him a speedy recovery and Maisie is sending him lots of kisses and cuddles. Hopefully the hounds at the kennels won't cause him too much trouble when he's back on his feet again, we're sure they'll be missing him while he's away. Our love also goes out to Auntie Celia who is somehow managing to juggle Jimmy, her own hounds, the homeless hounds AND the difficulties of trying to build their new home without upsetting the neighbours. We're thinking that she might be a superhero.

Finally, our new friend Mary (Missy and Pancho's human) has wrote up a lovely tribute to her hounds on the Greyhound Rescue Fife forum. Although she's only had them a year and a lot has changed, it's clear that she loves them dearly and wouldn't change a thing. Hopefully our humans will be writing a similar post this time next year, we're full of mischief but ultimately we love our new home.

That's it for now folks, as always more information about Greyhound Rescue Fife can be found at their website and check out their blog here.
